The Buckles business was first established in 1973 by Joyce and Richard Buckle as a small shop selling chickens and over 30 years later has become one of the best well known businesses in the area of Selby earning the title of 'Selby's Premier Catering Company'. Buckles Catering has the distinction of having catered for royal visits and regularly cater at Carlton Towers, the Yorkshire home of the Duke of Norfolk. The flexibility of diversity, creativity and innovation never ceases to amaze clients and proven Viking- theme canapés using ingredients readily available to the Vikings, specialist Greek buffet for a wedding and a Caribbean theme are amongst some of the distinctive hallmarks of Buckles personal service toward clients.

The Buckles business employs local people and only uses locally produced supplies allowing the support to the community and other local businesses. The business continues to grow from strength to strength despite the construction of the new Selby by pass and introduction of new and larger competitors.
