Broad Canvas opened in 1981 at No. 20 Broad Street, in the heart of the university town of Oxford. Our vision was to supply leisure interest in creative pursuits, as well as caring for the material needs of professional and student artists.

We are the sole Winsor and Newton Premier Art Centre in Oxford and main distributor of art, craft and graphic supplies in the city. Based in a four storey historical building, each floor of the shop carries a wide and comprehensive range of stock from leading manufacturers. Easels, canvases, the finest art materials, graphic pens and technical equipment, craft, needlework and model making equipment provide a fascinating and eclectic tool box for specific creative needs to take shape. We haven't forgotten fun and are constantly sourcing new product lines from all over the world.

We negotiate good discounts with manufacturers and pass on the best prices to our customers.

We supply Oxford University Departments, Oxford Brookes University architectural students, the Ashmolean, the famous Ruskin School of Art, numerous art colleges, schools, art societies, designers, hobbyests, even the rich and famous, across the complete age range. Account facilities are available for professional artists and companies subject to credit references.
