BRISTOL GRAMMAR LOWER SCHOOL - INFANTS AND JUNIORS

Learning at our School is a journey of discovery, where horizons are broad but every child can travel at their own pace.

Our teaching is underpinned by continuous informal assessment, which means we tailor it to each child’s individual and changing learning needs. It gives our children whatever support they may need to encourage and inspire them, along with an ambition to do their very best.

Each day is fresh with new ways of learning. Music, drama, art, sport and exploration are integrated into a wide and varied curriculum. Our school life allows each child to discover their strengths, to learn how to be their own person and to gain confidence, caring for others and taking responsibility for themselves along the way.

Our School is well equipped for learning, with a science room, music rooms, art studio, library and large hall in its own dedicated space. Life at the School is also enriched by being part of the larger learning community, the whole of Bristol Grammar School. Our children enjoy the use of excellent facilities, are regularly inspired by visiting speakers and share in the excitement and ceremony of whole school events.

BGS Infants is an exciting place, packed with ideas, colour, music and innovation and a teaching team whose talents and creative techniques make learning to read, write and count a great deal of fun.

Each day is an adventure, perhaps a trip to the stars or a journey to Australia, which is a great excuse to get stuck into aboriginal art, dive into folk stories or listen to the didgeridoo.

Inside the Infant School we make the most of our computers, our wet area for science and art, and, in our own dedicated building, the space that allows music, movement, dance and art to be a regular part of our learning activity.
