Short profile:
Not all residents share the benefits of our
prosperous, growing economy. The cost of
housing puts it out of reach of many of the
city’s residents and in some communities a
high number of people do not have the skills to
take advantage of new jobs. Our ambition is to
improve the quality of life for all. We must
make a real and significant difference to the
lives of those who experience disadvantage by
tackling the root causes. By unlocking the
potential of areas of deprivation, the whole city
will benefit. We are committed to
transformational change. We want all neighbourhoods to be places
where people want to live – clean, safe, high
quality environments, free from crime and
anti-social behaviour with access to green spaces
and the right balance between people and cars.
Detailed description:
Priorities: Going for growth in Bristol that we all can contribute to and benefit from. Raising standards in the key services that we need to improve: for efficient, responsive services, for children and young people, for older people and disabled people. Ensuring that citizens feel safe from crime and anti-social behaviour and can enjoy a healthy lifestyle. Ensuring that Bristol residents experience significant change in the physical quality of their neighbourhoods and have opportunities to shape improvements at this level.Bristol is a vibrant city, with influence
extending far beyond its boundaries. Our vision
for Bristol is as an ambitious international city
that plays its full part in leading and
influencing the future of the city region, region
and the UK as a whole. We want to maintain
and build the opportunities for investment and
economic growth, working with all sectors to
secure a dynamic economy that creates and
sustains jobs for Bristol residents.
