Opening Hours: 24 Hours. Reducing crime: We need to work hard to reduce both crime and the opportunities for crime to be committed. This means my officers must be visible, but you also have a responsibility not to place temptation in the criminal’s way (i.e. unlocked doors, keys in ignition, valuables on full view). Engaging with the community: Community policing is at the heart of my policing focus. It is our responsibility to ensure we engage with all elements of the diverse Brentwood community and for my team to ensure the ‘Queen’s peace’ is kept. It is important that we all work together as a community but engagement is a two way process, please take the opportunity to visit my officers at their many beat surgeries taking place across Brentwood to effectively influence the priorities in your area.

Anti-social Behaviour reduction: ASB is sometimes not seen as an important function for the police but it is as there are issues that affect our quality of life. It’s the cars driving up and down the road, individuals who make a nuisance of themselves, loud music, and people leaving the pubs and clubs nosily. My team will work with the community to reduce these incidents but we also need to work with partners for long-term solutions. Detecting crime: It is important to solve crime, although that does not always mean someone appears at court; there are other options like neighbourhood resolutions or formal cautions. Our focus needs to be on bringing offenders to justice and ensuring that our victims are kept informed and updated. Young people focused: To effectively deal with current issues there are dispersal areas in the district, but these are short term solutions. We will regularly review these to ensure we have not just moved the problem elsewhere and more importantly my team will engage with young people in Brentwood and work with them to provide a safe environment for them to live and socialise.
