Short profile:

We are a large and caring school where everyone works together in order for our children to reach their full potential in all aspects of their development.

Our aim is to help all our children grow in self-esteem and

self-discipline by developing a sense of pride in their work, their school and the wider community.

We believe that a successful school cannot work in isolation and we welcome the ideas and support that have helped us grow into a very popular school.

We consider ourselves to be a caring school achieving high standards. For us the key to success is the relationships between parents, teachers and pupils. We aim to have respect as the cornerstone of our work and try hard to ensure it is embedded in all we do. All children are encouraged to achieve as highly as they can and we support them in this. In turn we are supported by our governors who work closely with the school to ensure all our children’s needs are met.

Detailed description:

We work closely with parents to achieve our goals and will ring parents to share worries or concerns and to celebrate successes. We have an incredibly dedicated staff –we all work hard to maintain what we have achieved.

We communicate regularly. We have a website, we circulate curriculum summaries every term giving details of the work to be covered, we produce a weekly newsletter each Friday and we invite parents into school for special events. We also hold information evenings and invite parents to workshops regularly.

The children/families at Bracken Leas School are able to take advantage of wrap-round care provided by Stepping Stones both before and after school, through their Stepping Out Club. Stepping Stones also operate a walking bus to and from Bracken Leas School.

We are a community school and therefore, the governing body is a combination of appointed, elected and co-opted governors.
