Bournemouth Car Rental is a sub division of GRS - Breakdown and Recovery. GRS - Gloucester Road Service Station, was as the name suggests, originally located in Gloucester Road in Boscombe, Bournemouth. GRS were primarily a Recovery and Breakdown company which has grown to encompass a whole range of other services. The whole company as it grew, moved in search of a larger site to Jameson Road in Winton, Bournemouth. The company quickly expanded with the addition of a police contract and outgrew these premises. It was at this point it was decided an additional set of premises was needed and the Recovery Breakdown division of GRS moved to a large, 1 acre site in West Howe, leaving GRS Garage Services and Bournemouth Car Rental to occupy Jameson Road.

Bournemouth Car Rental operates primarily from Jameson Road, but also utilises Elliott road for hires closer to Poole. The Hire division has steadily grown due to its links within the motor trade and because of the nature of the pricing structure.
