BMI The Somerfield Hospital has 38 beds with most rooms offering the privacy and comfort of en-suite facilities, satellite TV and telephone. The hospital has three theatres and a high dependency unit. These facilities combined with the latest in technology and on-site support services, enable our consultants to undertake a wide range of procedures from routine investigations to complex surgery. This specialist expertise is supported by caring and professional medical staff, with dedicated nursing teams and Resident Medical Officers on duty 24 hours a day, providing care within a friendly and comfortable environment.

The hospital has two extensively equipped operating theatres available 24 hours a day for routine and emergency work. The hospital undertakes a wide variety of surgery, including minimally invasive, which has led to shorter stay and recovery periods. Major orthopaedic surgery is undertaken, as is ophthalmic, ENT, cosmetic, urological, maxillo-facial surgery and gynaecological surgery.

We believe that developing a close relationship between our professional and experienced staff, and patients, greatly assist in the recovery of the patient. This relationship begins at the first meeting with the Consultant, who personally directs treatment and care. Supporting each Consultant is an experienced Resident Doctor who is available 24 hours a day to care for patient's medical needs.
