Established in 1979, Blake Contractors Ltd is a family run business based in Southend-on-Sea, Essex. The Company is divided into three departments, which carry out a broad range of services: Blake Contractors (Building and Maintenance), Blake Electrical, Blake Fire and Security Systems Over the recent years with the introduction of the DDA 1995 (revised 2005) we have carried out various disabled access works to schools, colleges and care homes.

Blake Electrical was established in 1979 by Ian Blake, who with the assistance of his conscientious and professional staff, has built the business into the success it is today. Blake Electrical became an NICEIC approved contractor in 1981. We now have three qualifying managers which enables us to give a design service and technical advice on a broad spectrum of electrical projects. Blake Electrical as part of Blake Contractors Ltd, together with the Building and Maintenance and Fire and Security departments, allows the Company to offer a wide range of services for many multi-discipline contracts.
Blake Fire and Security was created as a separate department of Blake Electrical which had carried out security system installations since 1979. In 1998 we found the need for the separate identity. This change was complimented by our push for even more professional qualifications and higher standards.
Since then we have achieved SSAIB and NSI Gold recognition for the design, installation and maintenance of security systems, and NSI Gold BAFE recognition for the design and installation, commissioning, maintenance and testing of fire alarm systems.
