Blackpool Fylde and Wyre society for the Deaf is a registered charity, committed to serving the interests of Deaf people.
The Society has been in existence since 1925 and opened Wynfield house in 1961 in order to specialise in the care of profoundly deaf elderly and infirm people.
We support people to follow personal interests and activities. Service users are independent as they can be, lead their chosen lifestyle and have the opportunity to make the most of their abilities.

Wynfield House is a residential care home, owned and run by Blackpool Fylde and Wyre society for the Deaf, which is a registered charity, committed to serving the interests of Deaf people. The society has been in existence since 1925 and opened Wynfield house in 1961 in order to specialise in the care of profoundly deaf elderly and infirm people.
Chiropodist, Physiotherapist, hair dresser visit regularly.
Very extensive south facing garden to the rear of Wynfield house add interest for the residents who wish to sit and relax in the Summer House. Residents are encouraged to help in the garden if they wish to do so.
social activities arranged regularly, as are outings in our own minibus.
most importantly a friendly chat can be enjoyed with deaf people of all ages at the society's Deaf centre in
Cornwall Avenue.
All the facilities that are expected of a licensed club are available including snooker, darts, bingo etc.
An annual holiday can also arranged for those who wish to go.
Our dedicated staff care exclusively for profoundly deaf persons, and are skilled in sign communication ensuring that the hearing impaired are nor alienated or lonely.
Visitors are welcome at all the times with no restrictions whatsoever.
