Short profile:
Our priorities for improvement have been to continue to help the children manage life and learning
more effectively: partly by developing their role in the community. We have embedded a number of
programmes to help us achieve this, and each year group has focused on projects to develop local
links.
We have put intervention/support strategies in place to help raise attainment of low achievers
– especially numeracy.
Implementing the Foundation Stage best practice will raise attainment in writing at Key Stage 1 for
our younger children.
Detailed description:
We believe offering a wide range of extra-curricular activities enhances pupil learning.
The breakfast and after school clubs that we operate continue to thrive. During the summer and Christmas holidays we also ran a play scheme open for all primary children in the Tunbridge Wells area.
We are promoting the services of our new lunch provider in an attempt to promote healthy eating.
A new School Food & Packed Lunch Policy will be implemented this year. We are also
encouraging children to walk to school with our 'Walking & Wheeling Wednesday' initiative.
We hope to develop pupil voice further by providing regular opportunities for the children to plan
their own work, a new website pupil group and allowing the school council a wider impact on
decision making.
