Detailed description:
The school runs a summer programme of on and off activities for the whole school at the end of the academic year as well as summer school through Somerset College.
Other study trips are organised including ski-ing, the arts trips and exchanges to Europe and the recent sports tour to Italy. We also lead a major charity travel project each year which has vi d Peru and South Africa in recent years.
In keeping with our Specialist Status we also run five Conference Days for all students throughout the year whilst Year 10 also enjoy a week of work experience.
On a daily basis students can attend a range of clubs and activities including Chess club, Homework Club, History Club, Sports Clubs and the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme to name but a few. These are offered at lunchtime and after school when students may also undertake additional GCSE subject courses.
Performances and activites are also held in Dance, Drama and Music which are considered to be real strengths of the school.
Students are also encouraged to take on responsibility in their time at school and may graduate from being Form Captain and members of School Council to being Buddies for year 7 students and Prefects in Year 11
