Short profile:

Beverley RUFC is a rugby union club based in Beverley, East Yorkshire. Established in 1959, we are proud to support 3 senior teams and an enthusiastic group of juniors and mini sides. The clubhouse is approximately 1 mile from the town centre on Hornsea Road (Norwood), behind the Lady le Gross pub. Nearest train station is Beverley. It is 15 minutes walk from the bus and train stations.

Detailed description:

The Club will provide shirts for all matches and tournaments. We request that all members purchase the Club shorts and socks at cost price, to be worn for matches. We have a Club Kit shop were socks, shorts, training jackets, gum shields etc. can be purchased at reasonable prices. Especially in the winter months it is important for the young player to keep warm. There is no problem in them training or playing in tracksuit bottoms instead of shorts if it keeps them warmer (and as long as you don't mind them getting muddy or torn) and any other clothing required to keep dry and warm (so far as possible). We would much rather your child wear clothing to keep them warm and happy rather than the standard shirt and shorts. Hot showers are available if required.

As stated the Club has a Child Protection Officer who ensures all requirements by law are met. Beverley RUFC Junior Section has an anti-bullying policy, which helps to ensure that children are happy at the Club. Any action, physical, verbal or psychological, which threatens the happiness of any child is totally unacceptable and contrary to the ethos of Beverley Junior Section. On the very rare occasions inappropriate action is revealed the Coaches will take positive action to ensure it stops and there is no reoccurrence. The Club also supports the concept of fair play and respect for match officials, other players and spectators. To that end we encourage good sportsmanship and respect for others. Please make sure any medical conditions or needs are brought to the attention of a Club Coach or official.

If children require any inhaler or medication then they should ensure it is readily available. Any medication must be self-administered. We are always keen to attract new players. We are a friendly club that aims to give a young player every opportunity to improve and develop. If your child is interested in playing please feel free to give one of the coaches a ring.
