beSmart Training was started by Peter and Susan Ratcliffe, a couple with over fifty years combined experience within the security, leisure and hospitality trade.
Keen to share their wealth of knowledge and frontline skills, they became fully accredited trainers and created their first company, COI Freelance in the early noughties. They quickly earned a reputation as the preferred suppliers to London’s top historical venues, caterers, event planners and security professionals.
In 2008, they decided to create beSmart, a business with a mission to provide the most up-to-date, relevant training and smart, advice for all employers and professionals.

As licensing laws have changed and evolved, so have beSmart.
The list of courses now on offer at the beSmart Training Centre now covers the full breadth of HSE, SIA, BIIAB, NCPLH and Maybo courses from the latest door supervision qualifications to First Aid, SAFERwork and physical intervention.
beSmart offers a “one stop shop” service covering the training, testing and paperwork that employers and individuals need to keep business legal, staff professional and customers safe .
The beSmart Training Centre is in Canada Water in London, close to the Rotherhide Tunnel (B206) and ideally placed for travel from all across London and the UK. The centre is 10 minutes from London Bridge, less than 5 miles from the London 2012 Olympic Site in Stratford and within half an hour of Central London.
