Short profile:
Berrymans Lace Mawer LLP is a diverse firm operating in almost fifty areas of the law. The core of our work is insurance and we remain committed to serving the needs of this industry and its customers. However, we provide a range of services in addition to insurance and we have grouped them together into a portfolio for each of the nine market sectors on the right hand side.
Our practice today is the result of the 1997 merger of Berrymans with Lace Mawer, followed by the 2003 incorporation of Jackson’s Insurance Law.
The origins of the firm date back to the 18th century, when Joshua Lace gave his name to an already established law firm in Liverpool. In 1901, Frederic Berryman began the practice of Berrymans in the City of London and, in 1946, Arthur Mawer founded AW Mawer & Co in Manchester.
Detailed description:
Our vision is to lead the field in all aspects of our practice, understand what drives our clients and deliver practical advice that enables our clients to achieve their goals.
We are regularly asked to handle work with an international dimension. This could be representing UK-based organisations in a jurisdiction outside England & Wales, acting for organisations based outside England & Wales or handling a multi-jurisdictional case.
Berrymans Lace Mawer LLP is part of a proven global network of litigation specialists who act for several major corporations, including Daimler. Membership in the network enables our firm to draw upon a highly experienced team of lawyers in several key international jurisdictions. These links form an essential component of the firm’s strategy to resolve disputes such as product liability claims, which often have an overseas element.
We leverage our connection with this international network to offer clients the best and widest possible geographical coverage on matters affecting their business wherever and however these emerge.
