All gardens require a survey before any design work can commence. This ensures that the garden design is drawn to scale and minimises errors at the construction stage. If the garden is too large or complex, a professional surveyor will be recommended.

An individualised, detailed outline plan of the design is drawn using the survey information. The outline plan will show how all the soft and hard landscape elements will work together in relation to the existing space and elements which will be retained.

Once the outline plan has been approved, a planting plan is designed.

Any necessary building specification documents and construction drawings are drawn up too, if required. There is an additional charge for these services.

You may be pleased with the existing design of your garden, but not with the types of plants or the design of the borders. A planting plan without the need for a full design service may be a cost effective solution.

Planting plans are designed to create a harmonious design which meets the needs and planting skill of the clients. The planting design aims to show interest all year round or at a particular time of the year. Planting design complements and enhances the overall design of the garden. It also takes into account the type of soil and the aspect of the garden.

Initial visit- This introductory meeting is free of charge and gives both the client and me an opportunity to view the garden and discuss some basic requirements of the planting design required.

Consultancy visit- This includes a 2 hour visit to understand the exact requirements of the client. A detailed report confirming the information is prepared for the client, following the visit. If the project goes ahead to the design stage then the initial consultation fee of £100 is deducted from the final amount.
