Short profile:
We are a small primary school set on the east coast in the village of Bempton quite near the cliffs and the RSPB bird reserve.
We aim to provide a caring, safe and stimulating environment for learning in our well resourced new building. Our pupils take part in a variety of extra curricular activities and also enjoy links with the community and other local schools.
Detailed description:
Our well equipped ICT suite allows all pupils to have discreet ICT lessons and use ICT across the curriculum. Some of our pupils enjoy being part of an online learning network which links them with pupils from other schools.
We provide a wide variety of extra curricular activities, these include: football, gymnastics, rugby, cricket, athletics, crafts, Design Technology and computer club. Our pupils compete with other local schools, sing to audiences in the local community and take part in gymnastic displays.
We take part in sporting and scientific activities organised by both local secondary schools and link with our network of primary schools.
There has been a school in the village of Bempton since the 19th Century. The original school was housed in a building next to St. Michael's Church.
In 1912, the school was moved to a new building on School Lane.
This Victorian style building was demolished in 2004 when the pupils moved into a new, modern building on the same site.
