Belchamp St Paul Primary School is a small, voluntary aided school in North West Essex, close to the Suffolk border The nearest towns are Halstead in Essex and Sudbury in Suffolk
Detailed description:
The school provides a number of extra curricular activities. There is a mixture of free and reasonably priced clubs.
The free clubs provided by the school staff are choir, recorders (beginners, intermediate and advanced), cross country, netball, and rounders and athletics, in the summer only. All of the above, except for choir, take place during lunch breaks enabling all pupils to attend.
The charged clubs include multi-sports and football club which are weekly after school clubs, offered by a company called Premier Sports with qualified coaches. They also teach each class Games during the school day. Karate and Table tennis are also offered after school. There are many intersport activities offered to our children within the consortium of local schools such as football and netball matches; an annual cross country run, swimming gala and sports day.
The school's close links with the consortium and local secondary school means the children have many opportunities to visit other schools and take part in a wide range of non-sporting activities which enable them to share their talents and enjoyment of different areas of the curriculum e.g. music, science, ICT, creative writing, etc.
