Bedfords is a 17th century merchant house, serving a vast array of beers & spirits and we think really good food. We are open for lunches in our bar area or outside in our garden and restaurant, which also has a bar (weather permitting). Being a freehouse Bedfords offers probably the best range of beers, spirits & wines in the city.

Opening Times for Mon. 12pm till 3pm and 7pm till late student night (20% discount all night). The Crypt is 13th century and is used mainly for private parties, except from Monday nights which is student night with live music and or a DJ plus free admission & 20% discount off all drinks.
This is becoming very popular and our capacity is 75 people. It is home of the spider cocktail.
The ideal city centre venue for all your special occasions; birthdays, anniversaries, retirement & business parties are all catered for. As we are so busy on Friday & Saturday nights, upstairs can’t be held for private use, but Sunday through to Thursday is OK.
