Different approach
OxfordI booked a lesson at Baulking due to a Groupon offer. Although I feel I did gain something from the lesson, it was not a lesson I really enjoyed, like I have at other school's. I felt the instructor was quite patronising at times and quite abrupt. Which like the other lady says works well for children, but I feel a different approach is needed when teaching adults.

BeginnerI’ve had a couple of horse riding lessons in the past which have been very enjoyable.
Unfortunately during my lesson at Baulking Grange, I felt that the staff were very abrupt, direct and aggressive in their manner.
I can understand this might be a reasonable approach for younger students and children as it installs structure, discipline and respect, but for an adult? I left feeling extremely disappointed and won’t be returning.

ratsI've been having lessons at Baulking Grange for many years, and couldn't be happier with the tuition, horses, and facilities. I'd been to many riding schools before, but am now happy to have found somewhere I can truly enjoy and improve my riding!

J BucklandMy son is 12 years old and spends every spare minute at Baulking Grange. He started to learn to ride with Sally and Emma when he was six and, thanks to their expert instruction and support, is now in the final stages of breaking in his own horse. There are horses and ponies to suit riders of all ages and abilities and they are all beautifully cared for and happy. I now have lessons too and would thoroughly recommend Baulking Grange.

Happy RiderSally and Emma have a passion fot teaching and horses which is hard to find. The yard is spotless and they work hard to know and understand your child. They will cater to any individual problems and offer impartial sensible advice. I would not trust anybody else to teach my children around horses. They have really alterd my children's lives for the better

sharon dYou can not fault the staff at Baulking, Emma & Sally provide first rate lessons catering to the individual need of the student. The facilities are excellent (I have never seen such a clean stable). They both really understand what your child needs to progress and the manner to which your child best responds. Gone is my shy and quiet child and now I have a confident and outgoing one both in relation to horses and self confidence in group enviroments.

- S Coakley: I agree that Baulking has very good facilities and that Emma and Sally cater for all your needs but i found that because they have so many young horses and ponies for you to ride, you have to teach the horse/pony the basics and you don't really progress after a while. We also found that somtimes we were in their bad books because we didn't go to many pony days or clinics which must annoyed them because the next time i went for my lesson they way they sometimes spoke was quite rude.
- Swindon:A Friend went riding there and said it was good to begin with but was made to do things when nervous and instructors that did not encourage and sometimes spoke too sharply then needed. I went to watch once in the view of myself going there, but with the above decided against it.
