Civil litigation, i.e. civil court action, is the method of resolving disputes or claims between individuals, companies, local authorities and government departments by court proceedings. Civil Court action is now regarded as the last resort. Those involved in a dispute are expected to have followed certain procedures before starting a court claim (“pre action protocols”).
