Short profile:
We offer a wide range of after-school activities falling into three categories, school-led (basketball, football, outdoor & adventurous, choir, athletics, recorders, cricket, fitness/running, craft, recorders, art, cross-country and rounders), agency-led (dance, gym, tennis, rugby, boys' and girls' football) and lettings (Karate and fitness).
Numbers in these clubs continue to grow and in the Winter/Summer period last year over 600 pupils were registered for clubs, indicating that most pupils participate in at least two clubs each week.
The school has a strong commitment to participation in local sports events run and co-ordinated by the local sports college. We field strong competitive teams in Football, Cricket (boys and girls)Netball, Basketball, Athletics and many more.
We provide at least one educational visit per term and hold termly curriculum enrichment days with a strong arts theme such as arts week, African drumming and circus skills.
There are opportunities in school for children to play a range of musical instruments in association with Essex Music Services and we have a thriving school choir. Instrumental lessons currently include guitar, flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone and piano.
