There is an extensive set of options available to pupils for their KS4 programme with over 25 different subjects/courses to choose from. In the Sixth Form, there are over 40 courses to choose from. We believe that giving pupils choice improves their motivation, and helps them make progress and succeed more effectively.
We believe that school is more than timetabled lessons, and each week there are over 50 extra activities ranging from Chess Club to Homework Club, sports and PE activities, theatre trips and video conferencing with penpals abroad, and formal music such as the orchestra and choir, to African drumming and rock bands. We have Duke of Edinburgh Awards, First Challenge and World Challenge also on offer. There is something for every pupil and we encourage all pupils to get involved in at least one extra-curricular activity a week.
Educational trips and visits are also high profile for us, with over 80 different visits per school year. These range from one-day trips to France, to camping overnight locally, to a week in Germany, to a four week expedition to Kenya.
