Baker & Spice opened in 1995 as a food retail shop in Walton Street, Chelsea. The concept, which was revolutionary at the time, was to create a unique shop where almost everything sold was made from scratch daily. Baker & Spice is famous for outstanding cakes and pastries, an inspiring choice of cooked food and a range of original sourdough breads, our morning goods are baked daily on the premises and our croissants are heralded as “iconic”.

We are totally ingredient led so one day may not be the same as the next. We use what is seasonal, source authentic produce & choose organic when possible placing an emphasis on British & European produce first. We have three stores in London serving the local community as the perfect place to meet friends, relax and sample our gastronomic delights in authentic Continental style. In addition look for our stand in the Selfridges Food Hall where our products are available to take home or pre-order. At Baker and Spice we offer a fantastic range of gorgeous hand made spe ciality cakes baked fresh everyday by our in-house Chefs. Absolute heaven for the cake lover, Baker and Spice is an Aladdin’s cave of delicious, colourful, tempting home cooked confection. Trays of soft sponge cakes, plump shiny fruit flans, creamy cheesecakes, gooey brownies and huge fluffy meringues adorn the window display tempting passers by.

Our cookies are exceptionally good, hand made and baked daily using the finest ingredients. All of these delights are available per slice to eat in or take away. A selection of whole cakes is also available to pre order from each of the Cafés. We sell a variety of delicious speciality breads made to our own special recipes. Where possible, the ingredients used in our breads are organic and contain no preservatives. The range of specialist breads is extensive, including some exquisite French varieties; Pain Campaillou, Pain de Mie (French version of cholla) and the fabulous Pain de Campagne.

There are also some amazing Sourdough flavoured breads such as the gorgeous Black Mediterranean olive, Potato & Rosemary, Russian Rye, Hazelnut & Raisin and Sultana & fennel. . . . . to name but a few!
