    Went to Baekdu this weekend after it was recommended but i was fully disappointed. The place had pleasant decor and spacious settings but lacks atmosphere. The food looks interesting on the menu but when it arrived it was topped with chilly sauce all over it , not just a touch or a quick pour of sauce, literally it covered the bowl! At first i wasn't bothered thinking the food would be nice and the sauce was there to complement it but after a few spoon fulls the sauce had over- powered the food and made it unbearable to eat.

    What i found more disappointing was the service after asking for the waitress's attention, she wasn't even bothered to come to our table which is truly bad manners and service. Only when i asked her in plain English to come over, did she actually get off her seat. I explained that the the food was too spicy, esp for the young children on the table, her response was rude and presumptuous, assuming that we hadn't had Korean food when we had many times. Bad service was enough to put me off my food and ruin the meal, but having a rude waitress is enough to close a business down esp in todays current climate. There are plenty of good Korean restaurants about so you don't have to put up with second rate service and food from places like Baekdu. In hind sight I think the sauce was there to cover up the fact the food was actually tasteless.
