Short profile:

The BTCB is responsible for all aspects of WTF/Olympic style taekwondo in the UK. This includes selecting National Teams to compete at the European and World Championships, and the Olympic Games.

To improve communication to members regarding the work the BTCB is doing on its behalf.

To ensure the BTCB understands and represents the views of its members.

To work with relevant national and international organizations to promote the sport.

To establish the BTCB as the primary source of taekwondo information and training.

To ensure all BTCB members have access to good quality coaching.

Detailed description:

The British Taekwondo Control Board (BTCB) was established in 1982 and is the Governing Body for World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) Taekwondo in the United Kingdom. The BTCB is a member of the WTF, British Olympic Association (BOA), the European Taekwondo (ETU) and recognised by UK Sport, the government agency for High Performance Sport.

To increase participation and membership levels in the sport.

To encourage all practitioners of WTF Taekwondo to join our growing number of members

To increase the frequency with which people go training.

To encourage more members to become involved in the running of BTCB programmes at all levels.

To develop a well-informed, skilled and motivated network of volunteers to promote taekwondo and deliver programme’s at club, regional and national level.

Ensure that the BTCB is open to all, including groups who have been under-represented in the past.

To offer excellent service and tangible benefits to the BTCB membership.
