Aylesbury Grammar School is a highly successful selective boys’ school, established in 1598 in the heart of Buckinghamshire. We are a High Performing Specialist School with specialisms in Science, Languages and Maths & Computing. We also hold awards as an Investor in People, Investor in Families, Healthy School, Artsmark, Sportsmark and most recently have been accredited with the International School Award.
No one feels lost in a crowd at AGS due to effective pastoral care with specialist tutors, Heads of Year, and Heads of House. We are very proud of our House and Prefect systems that embody both our tradition and progressive ethos. Good behaviour and good appearance are standards that are carefully maintained, and we work with both parents and students to bring the best out of each individual who enters the school.

Aylesbury Grammar School is an establishment with the capacity to offer an enormous number of activities to suit every need and requirement. We are proud of our specialisms in Science, Languages and Maths & Computing and are keen to use these areas for the enrichment of our students, offering them variety and opportunity beyond the curriculum, but we are also proud of the benefit these specialisms bring to the wider community.
Our broad based Key Stage 3 course incorporates the National Curriculum and approaches from the National Secondary Strategy.
Throughout the school, time is devoted to Personal, Social, Health, Citizenship and Economic Education (PSHCEE). Tutors have sessions each week helping pupils to set and review targets for their personal development and academic progress.
