Children at Lakeside Day Nursery spend happy, fulfilling days learning through play in the care of very talented staff. Our enthusiastic, dedicated team are a real asset. Some have 30 years of experience, others are newer recruits, but all are full of ideas for activities that make sure each child achieves their full potential.
The nursery is a bright, stimulating place full of laughter and discovery, and our manager and other staff have their own children here – proof that we offer the best in childcare and education. Two staff are currently studying for their Foundation Degree and we actively encourage others to pursue their studies.
Continuity from our long-standing team means children have the comfort of familiar faces and as we never use agency staff, you have the reassurance of knowing your child is always in safe hands.

Parents tell us they find Lakeside Day Nursery friendly and welcoming, and enjoy the home-from-home environment. So what will your child be doing in our spacious, colourful rooms? You’ll find children splashing paint, experimenting with water, making music, revelling in messy play, dressing up for role-play, clambering on the climbing frame and zooming about on trikes, baking, singing or investigating the ICT equipment. We have and lovely garden too. Older children have tennis and swimming with David Lloyd instructors and there are weekly Jo Jingles music and movement sessions.
The nursery is ideal for commuters, located on the A34 close to the motorways and Manchester Airport. The premises are very secure, with CCTV on all entrances and the added security of being within the David Lloyd Club. A parents’ group gives mums and dads the opportunity to discuss opinions, praise and concerns with nursery managers.
Partnership with parents is very important to us so we can be sure we respond to your specific needs as well as those of your child – we’re here to make your life easier. We take every care to make new parents and children feel welcome and settled, and our key carer system helps support families in a smooth transition from home to nursery life. Delicious, nutritious food is prepared fresh every day by our chef, who caters for any dietary requirements or preferences.
