Short profile:
"The curriculum is outstanding. It is rich and diverse and covers many interesting and lively topics." (Ofsted Report: 2nd May 2007)
Learning journeys are planned for each class exploring the national curriculum through exciting themes such as: Where the Wild things are; Draganology, The Hunter.
All pupils from Year 1 to Year 5 learn French and every child is a member of one of our outstanding choirs. Each year our Year 3 class all learn the violin with specialist music teachers.
The curriculum is further enhanced through effective use of the outside learning environment. Pupils are encouraged to take their learning outside in a number of ways.
Each Year Group run a number of events to support children's learning. These range from day trips to the seaside, local woods, sites of historical interest, to a residential trip for our Year 5 pupils, and a wide variety of visitors bringing the curriculum alive in school.
To further enhance the learning we hold special themed days. Recently we have had Problem Solving Days, Book Week and Science Week.
"this diverse curriculum ensures that they are very well prepared for their future lives." (Ofsted Report: 2ns May 2007)
