asgen have been trading since 1999, working throughout East Anglia, Essex, London & Kent in close association with local authorities, housing associations, national building contractors and domestic customer base. Asbestos is the name given to a group of minerals that occur naturally in the environment as bundles of fibers and can be separated into thin, durable threads. These fibers are resistant to heat, fire, and chemicals and do not conduct electricity.
For these reasons, asbestos has been widely used in many industries. There are two subgroups of asbestos: chrysotile, which has curly fibers and is in the serpentine family of minerals; and amphibole asbestos, which has straight, needle-like fibers and includes actinolite, tremolite, anthophyllite, crocidolite, and amosite asbestos.
Chrysotile asbestos is the form that has been used predominantly in commercial applications worldwide.

Following many years of working within the Construction and Demolition Industry, Mr Wicks formed asgen limited Environmental Services on 21st October, 1999, this was to provide his clients with the satisfaction that notifiable asbestos containing materials were removed and disposed of in line with current Health & Safety Executive legislation. Originally, a family run business, that has now grown to members outside the family, but still maintains a devotion to their client’s which include; local authorities, government bodies, health authorities and a substantial amount of work for the public sector direct.
