Office Opening Hours: 8.45am - 5.15pm (Monday - Thursday) and 8.45am - 4.45pm (Friday). Arun District Council is responsible for the provision of a wide range of services. We are responsible not only for refuse and recycling but our Environmental Health Team and Community Safety team along with others help to maintain a clean and safe environment for all. Whether it be street cleaning, food inspections or sea water quality we aim to make the Arun district a clean and safe place to live.

Detailed description:

We are responsible for Planning and Building Control Services. We provide advice and guidance on the planning process both development control and strategic planning. Our Building Control Service provide services to the building industry as well as to members of the public seeking to carry out works to their properties. Home to award winning beaches and parks, historical monuments, picture postcard villages and the South Downs, Arun's got it all. Covering the three main towns of Arundel, Littlehampton and Bognor Regis, the district is home to around 140, 000 people and borders Chichester to the west and Worthing to the east, and was recently voted one of the very best places in the country to live by the Halifax building society. Arun District Council has its own stock of housing - currently around 3, 500 units (which includes around 700 sheltered units), and manages more on behalf of private owners.
