Detailed description:
The KIWI Club is run after school by Learning Mentors, this is available to a small group of pupils who are selected each half term. One aspect of the club is to work on life skills, social opportunities and visit new places.
We run a range of after school activities including Homework Club, Yoga, Salsa, Art, Recorders etc.
We run a Breakfast Club which gives children the opportunity to socialise before the start of school and eat a healthy breakfast.
There are numerous trips and visits through the school year which reflect the curriculum at that time.
Throughout the school year, we have numerous visitors such as authors reading elements of their books and describing the process of writing a narrative, steel bands putting on a performance and holding workshops, Science visitors who provide demonstrations etc and visitors in class and assembly.
Year Four are part of 'Higher Futures 4You'. Links are made to Higher Education and all the class have the opportunity to visit Manchester University and gain a valuable insight into the world of work and further education.
Year six have an annual residential for one week in which a range of adventourous activities are completed.
