Short profile:
A full curriculum is supported by educational visits, visitors to the school and a range of extra curricular activities.
There is a wide range of extra curricular activities which include 3 recorder groups, hockey/rounders, football/rugby/cricket, swimming, cross country, cheerleading, golf, multi-skills, drama, Latin, band, chess and computer club.
Weekly swimming lessons take place at Carnforth Pool for children in Year 3 and 4.
French is taught throughout the school.
International links are well established.
Children are involved in a variety of musical events and a bi-annual musical is performed involving all the children.
Brass and woodwind tuition is available on a weekly basis.
A string ensemble meets weekly.
Children can take The Associated Board Music examinations.
We take part in a variety of inter-school tournaments and competitions.
Activity Days with Yealand give the children opportunities to extend friendships and experience activities which are not part of the day to day curriculum.
The annual Charity Day provides an additional focus each year.
The children are encouraged to re-cycle and we take part in the annual Yellow Woods Challenge in addition to other initiatives.
