The Anita Harris Studio is situated in the heart of the Potteries.
Detailed description:
Our home has two bottle kilns (ovens), built some 150 years ago. They are, of course, no longer allowed to be fired but are a central part of our heritage presentation. This is known as The Henry Sandon Room after our dear friend Henry Sandon M.B.E. of Antiques Roadshow fame. One kiln is named "Henry" and the other "Eric" after his friend and ours, the irrepressible Eric Knowles.
Examples of pots from bygone factories, artifacts and an illustrated history of working and home life can be found. An imagined 1948 designers room contains many items of the period including the drawing board from James Kent (Foley Pottery) and a collection of Shorter ware.
The working part of our building is being refurbished and we are now in full production. Many decorative features will be added as time progresses.
