Short profile:
The animal rescue charity was founded in 1990 by mother and daughter Jan Rose and Fiona Piggott after taking in strays from the local police dog pound. News travelled fast and soon waifs and strays where being left on their doorstep. Desperate funding and a more suitable home for these animals initiated the creation of the Charity, now affectionately known as “the small charity with a big heart” .
Detailed description:
To provide a safe haven (sanctuary) for neglected, unwanted and abandoned animals and wherever possible to treat and re-habilitate all animals including wildlife; sanctuary as we see it being a place of protection; a refuge.
The Animal Rescue Charity is made up of a dedicated team, without whom, we wouldn’t be able to function. Our team is made up of both volunteers and staff, who work tirelessly to ensure all our animals are given the best care possible.

'Rapha'
Mo JenkinsWell! At last I've fallen on all four of my paws. I'm now living in Sawbridgeworth.I have a garden with my own dust bath, two beds, one where I can watch television, and one in the bedroom with my new mum and dad. I sleep all night in a big soft bed and am told just what a special dog I am. (every few minutes) I think mum and dad love me and I think they are pretty cool. I visit and play with Solo Casper and Buttons. We race around the garden and go walking together in Pishiobury Park. I know I'll be happy here and I'm very grateful to my friends at the ARC for being so good to me and helping me find my new family. I'm attaching some recent photos for you all. Bye for now, Love Rapha. (Raphi as was) Mum and Dad said this morning that my name ought to be Angel or Angelo as I am so good. HaHaHaHa.

Wendy EmbersonWe have now had 4 dogs from Foxdells and they have proved to be full of character and great fun to have. We were very pleased to be able to offer these dogs a home. The staff there are very caring and knowledgeable about the animals they have there and are certainly to be trusted for giving you the right opinions and help. Well done and keep going!
