Allcures was established in 1981 and now includes 13 branches across Essex and North London, as well as our online shop. Our online shop was launched in 1999 and was the first fully operational online pharmacy in the UK. We offer a variety of health checks, as well as assistance with common health problems, and advice on lifestyle changes, such as giving up smoking.

If you think that your regular method of contraception may not have worked properly, for example forgetting to take your Pill, or a condom breaking, then you will need emergency contraception to prevent an unwanted pregnancy. The hormonal emergency contraception pill, or morning after pill, is available to buy at all Allcures pharmacies. In some cases, you may be able to get free emergency contraception, but this is dependent upon your local PCT (there may be age restrictions for free provision) The pill itself is called Levonelle One Step, and can be used up to 72 hours after unprotected sex. However, the sooner you take it, the better protected you are, as it can be up to 95% effective when used within 24 hours, falling to 85% if taken within 48 hours. You will have a consultation with our pharmacist, in complete confidence, who will need to ask you some questions to ensure that Levonelle One Step is suitable for you to take.
