ALDERCAR COMMUNITY LANGUAGE COLLEGE

A wide range of enrichment activities is available to our students. As well as a fully integtrated academic and vocational curriculum we offer residential experiences off site on an annual basis linked with our work in Literacy and Languages in particular. Similarly, we provide the opportunity for students to become Sports Leaders and Sports Ambassadors. Regular foreign visits as part of our specialist language college commitment see students in all years visiting Japan, France, Belgium, Germany, Spain and Austria with reciprocal visits hosted by ourselves. Links with schools in both China and Poland are being actively pursued.

Students have the opportunity to join a variety of bands and choirs in the college and the 'Radercal Theatre Group' prepares at least two performances each year.Individual instrumental tuition is available via our Music Dept.

KS4 students regualarly opt to study all three sciences: both single and additional science are also available. We offer 6 languages up to and beyond GCSE level. All students opt for at least one language in KS4 with a growing number opting to take 2 or 3 languages.The newly devised Enrichment Programme for Y7s incorporates a range of off site learning opportunities as of Sept 2008.
