Airtopia Ballooning is a hot air balloon company based in South Devon operating pleasure balloon flights throughout East Cornwall and South, Mid and East Devon. Flights in Cornwall cover the area between Bodmin moor and the Tamar valley. In South Devon we fly over Dartmoor, the South Hams and the Teign valley. And in Mid and East Devon we fly over Exeter and the surrounding countryside including the Exe and Culm valleys.
We believe that size matters. So, unlike most other companies who operate balloons with between 10 and 20 passengers, we prefer to fly balloons with no more than 8 passengers on board. We believe that a flight in a smaller balloons gives our passengers a much more enjoyable experience, the chance to talk to the pilot throughout the flight and allows us to provide them with the service that they have paid for.
Detailed description:
On the day of your balloon flight you will be greeted by your pilot and crew and introduced to your fellow passengers. A suitable launch site will then be selected depending on the wind direction. After arriving at the launch site you will be invited to help prepare the hot air balloon for flight. Once ready, a safety briefing will be given to you before the balloon is inflated.
When the final checks have been made you will be asked to climb into the balloon basket ready for launch. Once in the air the hustle and bustle of modern day life is soon left behind to be replaced by the tranquility of a bygone age. The beauty of the South West countryside unfolds beneath you as the balloon climbs you will be able to enjoy the panoramic views North across the tors of Dartmoor and Bodmin moor and South to the coast and English channel beyond.
Towards the ernd of your balloon flight your pilot will look for a suitable landing field and guide the balloon back down to earth. After the balloon has been deflated and packed away you will be invited to celebrate your flight with a glass of champagne and a toast. You may also order your personalised flight certificate, incorporating an in-flight photograph of you and your fellow passengers - a ideal memento for an experience of a lifetime.
