Advent’ is a Christian ministry that the Lord brought into being in 1995 after we had been in the wilderness of unemployment for nearly three years. Many years on, it can be said that the work has a past, present and future. The vision has developed and grown and the future will bring still more changes and developments. There is still more to come.
The work originally started as a Christian literature ministry based in the Snowdonia National Park mainly centred in and around the towns of Barmouth, Dolgellau, Machynlleth and Tywyn. The practical outworking of this was through the use of a Market Stall selling Christian books, cards and gifts in these towns as well as putting on Book Parties in people’s homes and various Church functions. The Market Stall work proved to be a very effective way of meeting people on neutral ground and many good relationships were formed with locals and visitors.
Detailed description:
Advent is a Christian Ministry established in 1995 to give praise to God by linking up with other Christians in Wales to prepare the way for the Lord to come in power.
This preparing the way entails seeing conditions created through repentance, praise, prayer and holiness which will allow God to be glorified again through the Gospel of Jesus Christ in salvation, healing and deliverance of the people from darkness.
This preparation to the glorious hope – the return of the Lord Jesus Christ to this earth to fully establish His Kingdom.
Teach as of paramount importance that being a Christian is primarily about "The Great Commandment" to love God and to know Him. Fruitfulness for God will only follow after we have intimacy with God. Only by doing this will we ever begin to fulfil "The great Commission to preach the Gospel and make disciples of Jesus Christ in readiness for His return.
Further the Gospel through the sale of Christian literature:- Bibles, books, greetings cards, gifts, arts and crafts.
Teach the importance of the place of Israel in the purpose of God.
Encourage with wisdom, the flow of the gift of prophecy.
