You do not need a referral from a GP to visit us. Active Life Osteopathy clinic will provide a complete range of diagnostic and treatment skills, including direct referral to specialists and MRI centres.
Acupuncture can relieve symptoms of some physical and psychological conditions and may encourage the patient's body to heal and repair itself. It works by stimulating the nerves in skin and muscle and can help with a range of problems, such as increasing the body's release of natural painkillers (endorphin and serotonin).
The method typically involves inserting fine needles through the skin. These are left in position briefly, sometimes with manual or electrical stimulation. The number of needles varies but may be only two or three.
At Active Life Osteopathy we sometimes use acupuncture to help relieve pain. It’s commonly used to treat musculoskeletal pain, particularly in the back, shoulders
Pilates is an exercise method, designed to elongate, strengthen and restore the body to balance. Based upon an anatomical understanding of the body's muscular and skeletal systems, we can create a comprehensive exercise programme for every client. Classes will focus on specific areas individually, while using exercises that integrate the whole body to re-educate and restore it to optimum muscular and skeletal function.
