Short profile:
We work hard to extend our curriculum for our children, both in and out of the regular school day.
The curriculum is enriched through Arts and Book Weeks when creative and performing artists from various backgrounds and cultures come into school, along with recognised authors. This has been further enhanced through our partnership with York Theatre Royal. All pupils participate in public performances throughout the year.
We offer a range of clubs at lunchtime and after school, which vary through the year. Presently, the children can choose from sports such as rounders, orienteering and archery, with football continuing throughout for younger children. During the winter, netball, cross country running and basketball are also played. The school has representative teams in many of these sports.
We have had choirs for both Key Stages, an orchestra and a Homework Club.
As well as the choir, Key Stage 1 children also have multi skills and gymnastics clubs.
As with most schools, we find it difficult to meet demand for places and to operate clubs for the youngest of our children.
The school hosts a 'Breakfast, After School & Holiday Club' to meet the needs of working parents.
