Account-a-Balance specialise in offering accountancy and tax services to Small Businesses.
We provide hands-on support throughout the life of your business, giving advice and assistance on day to day issues as well as your accountancy, payroll and taxation needs. Our office is based in Poole, Dorset and comprises a husband and wife team. As we do not employ any staff you are therefore guaranteed a consistent, personal service from an accountant who takes an interest in you and your business. As an added benefit, we offer competitive fees (over 30% lower for some).
We are pleased to be able to offer a range of different services and aim to provide a professional and effective solution to all of your day-to-day accounting and taxation needs. We strive to complete work quickly and accurately and will always be pro-active in identifying problems before they arise and seeking opportunities for improvement.

Accounts
Accounts preparation is a core part of our business. Related services include:-
Interim/Management accounts, monthly or quarterly
Statutory accounts to comply with Companies Act and Financial Reporting Standard requirements
Accounts for partnerships and sole traders
Budgets and cash flow forecasts
Self-assessment tax returns
We are able to offer a fixed price quote for individual tax returns. The price will be dependent on the level of complexity and number of transactions involved. It will also depend on the way the information is provided and presented to us. We will advise on any ways of mitigating your tax liability. If your income has reduced we can also claim to reduce your payments on account.
Corporation tax
Corporation tax is due 9 months and 1 day after the end of the accounting period. The company's corporation tax return is due within 12 months of the accounting period end. At Account-a-Balance we aim to submit all of our clients’ tax returns online.
Capital Gains Tax
Our services include:-
Preparation of computations for compliance purposes
Advice on capital gains tax
Mitigation including the utilisation of all available reliefs and allowances both business and personal
VAT
VAT can often be complicated and rules and regulations are constantly changing. We are able to provide services ranging from general advice to VAT Return completion.
Payroll
We are able to provide weekly or monthly payroll services and will deal with all PAYE, NIC, Statutory Sick Pay and Statutory Maternity Pay. We can provide you with payslips, payment details, PAYE/NIC analysis and the journal entries for your accounts. We will also remind you when to pay HMRC and arrange for quarterly payments if your monthly PAYE/NIC is below the threshold.
