Just like all white good, windows now have energy ratings: A-G. Here's the make-up of each energy category: G - Rated windows: Single glazing. Applicable for garages and outbuildings. F - Rated windows: Double glazing with:- aluminium unit spacers. Applicable for garages and outbuildings. E - Rated windows: Double glazing with:- Low 'E' glass to inner pane, aluminium unit spacers. Minimum requirement for households. D - Rated windows: Double glazing with:- Low 'E' glass to inner pane (soft or hard coat), Argon gas filled units, Aluminium unit spacers. Applicable with triple glazed units and units incorporating internal blinds. C - Rated windows: Double glazing with:- Low 'E' glass to inner pane (soft or hard coat), Argon gas filled units, black super foam spacer. B - Rated windows: Double glazing with:- Low 'E' glass to inner pane (soft or hard coat), low Ion glass to outer pane, Argon gas filled units, black super foam spacer, inferior PVCu frames. NOT AVAILABLE FROM B & P WINDOWS AS WE DO NOT OFFER INFERIOR PVCu FRAMES. A - Rated windows: Double glazing with:- Low 'E' glass to inner pane (soft or hard coat), low Ion glass to outer pane, Argon gas filled units, black super foam spacer, quality thickwalls/multi-chambered PVCu frames, thermal reinforcement. B & P Windows' products have achieved A + 5 energy ratings! A Rated, B Rated and C Rated windows are certified energy efficient.
