    Our motorcycle instructor training package, which has been running for several years, has proven to be very successful with candidates achieving very high first time pass rates in the DSA assessment at Cardington.Many successful instructors have chosen to join us as franchised schools which now cover the entire south west of England. These self run businesses have proven to be very successful. We are looking for ambitious motorcycle instructors to franchise in the east, midlands, and north of the country. As a fully qualified instructor a turnover of £30,000 in the first year is achievable, rising in subsequent years. The course is designed to teach you how to instruct members of the public to ride motorcycles and scooters in accordance with The Motor Vehicles (Driving Licence) Regulations 1999 and to prepare you for the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) assessment at Cardington which on successful completion you will be awarded your certificate to teach. Phoenix Training Services differ from other riding schools in that our courses are open ended, that is to say, should you not be successful in your assessment at Cardington we will continue to train you at our mutual convenience until you are successful. We will provide you with all the reference books, Instructor notes and lesson plans required for your preparation. A general overview of the course is as follows: Week one Our instructor training centre has everything your need. You will spend an Intensive seven days at our training centre based at Amesbury Wiltshire. The course will consist of instructional techniques delivering the Compulsory Basic Training Course (CBT) as laid down by the DSA, Including practice delivering the CBT to live students under instruction from your qualified tutor, on road riding techniques and riding assessments. On the final day your progress will be assessed to determine if further training is required to attain a down trained standard. Further training Depending on how well you have progressed you may need further practice before you apply for an assessment at Cardington. We will arrange for further training at our mutual convenience so that you are well prepared for the assessment. The length of this further training depends largely on how often you can make yourself available for training. Once ready, we will arrange at your convenience, for you to attend the Cardington two day assessment. On successful completion of this assessment you will be awarded your Driving Standards Agency Certified Motorcycle Instructor Certificate for CBT. DAS assessment Further training will follow at your convenience for the Direct Access Scheme assessment at Cardington. On successful completion of the DSA DAS assessment you will be awarded a Driving Standards Agency Certified Motorcycle Instructor Certificate DAS. Armed with this certificate you can seek employment with any approved Rider Training School or even start your own business. We charge an all inclusive £1250.00 for the course and follow up training which does not include accommodation. There are no specific examination fees. At present there are no fees charged by the DSA for the assessments at Cardington. Individuals will be responsible for Overnight accommodation charges. We challenge you to find this level of training at a more competitive price. The Law & Motorcycle training The motorcycle training industry is regulated by the Driving Standards Agency (DSA), and there are strict rules associated with motorcycle training. The licensing of motorcyclists is also quite a complicated matter with rules relating to the age, name, size and power of motorcycles. Essentially at present there are three stages of qualification to become a fully qualified motorcycle instructor. Down trained Trained and assessed by a qualified instructor and permitted to train at Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) level only within the ATB that trained you. CBT1 Attended the DSA centre at Cardington and pass a rigorous two day assessment. This permits you to train at CBT level and down train other new instructors. This is the minimum qualification to hold an Approved Training Body Status (ATB). DAS Already CBT1C (cannot progress directly to DAS) and attended DSA Centre at Cardington and pass a further half-day assessment. This permits you to train DAS in addition to CBT. Franchise Once you have passed the Cardington assessment and have been awarded your CBT1C you would be eligible to become one of our growing number of low cost franchised ATB's.We already have four successful franchise schools in the south west of the country and three more imminent, also in the south west.
