Birthlight is an organisation dedicated to promoting greater enjoyment of pregnancy birth and babies. The second largest of the constituent Colleges of the University of Cambridge, it has about 135 Fellows, 530 undergraduates and 300 graduate students. Emmanuel is in the heart of Cambridge, in a main shopping area, yet is off the tourist track and never feels crowded or pressured. It is one of the larger colleges in Cambridge, a community of more than 600 people. At its head is the Master; there are some 80 Fellows, around 450 undergraduates and some 150 graduate students in residence at any one time, and a large permanent staff. The quality of the educational experience with which Emmanuel provides you will depend both on those who make their lives teaching and researching in this College - the Fellows - and on those who will share your time at the College as your contemporaries. That is why we take the process of selecting and admitting Emmanuel students, of supporting them while they are here, and of providing their teaching, so seriously.

Bottisham Community Primary School is based in the village of Bottisham, situated to the northeast of Cambridge. At Bottisham Community Primary School we believe children should be given the opportunity to extend their learning by working at home. To be valuable, homework needs to be part of a wider partnership between parents and school. We believe that, by setting homework, we extend opportunities for parents and children to work together to enjoy learning experiences. As children move through the school, we encourage them to develop independent strategies and take responsibility for their own learning, in preparation for transfer to secondary school.
Our curriculum is currently being reshaped, to offer creative learning opportunities to children and to help them to develop their learning and interpersonal skills. In addition to in-school learning, the children are offered a broad range of activities to enhance their educational experience. Children are able to learn a variety of instruments, including voice, woodwind, piano, brass, strings, guitar and recorder. We have an orchestra, choir and brass band and the quality of music making in the school is recognised to be unusually high in a primary school. We invite visitors, including musicians, dancers, theatre groups and scientists into school. There are many fund-raising activities during the year, many of which are run by the children. We offer after-school activities to enhance children's education and opportunities, including dance, basketball, football, recorders, games and homework club.
