The Crown Prosecution Service is an independent Government organisation set up in 1986 to prosecute criminal cases investigated by the police in England and Wales. CPS South West is headed by Chief Crown Prosecutor, Barry Hughes and covers the police force areas of Gloucestershire, Avon and Somerset and Devon and Cornwall.
