We are a Catholic school for young people of Secondary school age, which serves the parishes of Addingham, Burley in Wharfedale, Horsforth, Ilkley, Otley, Pudsey and Yeadon. St Mary’s is not just about good exam results – many good secular schools achieve this. St. Mary's is a Primary Church of England Voluntary Aided School for children from Nursery through to Key Stage 2 (Aged 11). We are a partnership between the Church of England and the Hertfordshire Local Education Authority. Our aim is to enrich the lives of the children who come to our school, in educational, personal and spiritual terms. We endeavour to provide a secure, happy, caring and Christian environment in which every child recognises and celebrates their achievements.
St. Michael and All Angels C.E. (V.A.) Primary School is situated in the picturesque village of Rearsby. The main part of the school was built in 1872, although there have been many alterations since then, including extensive building work carried out in 2009. We are very proud of the excellent facilities we can offer, and the excellent progress children make at our school.

Our new school building was opened in 2000. In 2003 the building was awarded the Northern Architectural Association Hadrian Award. Our parish priest, Fr. William O'Gorman laid the foundation stone for our new school building on 4th May 2000. The school was then opened and blessed by Bishop Ambrose Griffiths.
We aspire to embrace the Gospel and its values, celebrating uniqueness and diversity. Our learning, within an enterprise culture, is based upon trust and respect which define our relationships within the world family. 'Everyone Matters' The school knows that pupils are different in many ways but there is one way in which all St. Nicholas pupils are equal - all are equal in importance. Teachers ensure that each child is known individually. The school especially values good relations with parents, "the first and foremost educators of their children". The school sees itself as working in partnership with parents, for the benefit of all their children.
