Aware Defeat Depression has been working since 1996 to support all those in Northern Ireland affected by depression or bipolar disorder (manic depression). We also welcome and support carers. We opened our first office in Derry/Londonderry and now have a second office in York Street, Belfast where our helpline is based. We also have an established network of over twenty support groups in rural and urban areas across the country, which are run by our trained volunteers.

The CSP office in Northern Ireland was established in Belfast in 2001. In 2009 the office moved to new premises, at Arthur House. The office supports CSP members across Northern Ireland, putting the profession's collective views to across to politicians, the public and the press. CSP representatives bring issues to discussions and negotiations with the devolved administration in Northern Ireland, including the Regional Health Board and the Health and Social Services trusts.

Knockbracken Healthcare Park occupies 275 acres of parkland on the outskirts of South Belfast and is located on the Saintfield Road approximately two miles on the city side of Carryduff. Approximately half of the Estate is utilised by the Belfast Trust to provide in-patient services for people with mental health problems. The remainder of the estate is occupied by around thirty voluntary organisations who work in the healthcare field.
