We have grown rapidly in recent years due to an increase in the population of young people with autism and other complex difficulties.

Oak Lodge is a maintained Community Special School offering 165 day places for students aged between 11 - 19 who have a range of learning difficulties. In particular, the school offers a variety of teaching methods and interventions informed by our knowledge and understanding of autism, which has been developed over many years. Almost half of students currently placed at Oak Lodge have a diagnosed Autistic Spectrum Condition or an associated pervasive developmental disorder.

St Nicholas is a Primary Special School catering for children aged 4 – 11 years with Moderate Learning Difficulties, Speech and Communication Disorders and Autism. The school has a maximum roll of 118 pupils. Children may be admitted from the age of 4 years. Children may be admitted up to the age of 10 years if places are available. Autism Anglia is the new name for The Essex Autistic Society (EAS), NACHA (Norfolk Autistic Community Housing Association) and Norfolk Autistic Society (NAS). The Essex Autistic Society took over the running of NACHA on 1st March 2008 and following their AGM on 28th March 2008 the new name was formally agreed. NAS then merged with Autism Anglia on 28th August 2008.
