"Art of Adventure" was created to share with you some of the fun and adventure my colleagues and I have every day. Whether kayaking down a rapid on a torrent of white water, descending from a mountain summit in a white-out or listening to the owls from a woodland camp by the seashore, our awareness is brought back to the present moment, which brings a great sense of peace and joy.
It's not possible for us to stock everything you might need so, if you don't see what you're looking for when you visit us, please ask. If we don't have what you want to hand we can probably order it (orders usually arrive within a week or so).

Each piece of my work is a dissected section of a whole form. Once I have the initial, more traditional vessel on the wheel, I work in to the clay and add slips, as the piece is moving. Once the body is firm, I cut it in two with the wheel still in motion. I am currently using underglaze colours and oxides to enhance the already layered and worn surface. Once fired I continue to work back into the clay and usually fire several times..

I am a textile designer and tutor, working with fibre, yarn and dyes. My particular passions are colour, in the form of natural and synthetic dyes, and silk fibres. I have an eclectic approach to the creation of textile pieces and consider it essential to move from inspiration to final piece using whatever technique I feel is most appropriate. Spinning, weaving and dyeing are the most frequently used, but paper-making, batik, embroidery, knitting and braiding all have their place in my work.
